If you dont already have that, youll want to choose WordPress hosting and then install the WordPress software.Once you have that ready to go, you can dig into the steps†¦1. Export content from SquarespaceTo export your content from Squarespace, get started by opening the Squarespace editor. Then, open the Settings area:In the sidebar, navigate to Advanced → Import / Export. Then , click the button to Export:This will open a prompt select the option for WordPress:After a short wait, you should see an option to Download your sites export. Change Squarespace domain to point to WordPress (if using custom domain)If youre using a custom domain at Squarespace and you want to use the same domain name at your WordPress site, this is probably where you want to change that domain to point to your WordPress site instead of your Squarespace site.I say probably because doing this means that all visitors will see your as-yet-unfinished WordPress site for the time being. If you have a busy Squarespace site, you might want to use a WordPress staging site or temporary domain name to get things ready before making the switch. You can ask your host to help you set this up.If youre fine with cutting off public acces s to your Squarespace site right away, its simpler to just make the switch now.To do that, youll need to change your domains nameservers to point to your WordPress host, rather than your Squarespace site.If you got your domain name through Squarespace, you can follow this help article. Import content to WordPressNow, youre ready to use that .xml file that you downloaded from Squarespace in step one to import your content to WordPress. To get started, open your WordPress dashboard and go to Tools → Import. Find the WordPress tool and click Install Now. Squarespace exports your content in a WordPress-compatible format, which is why you can use the regular WordPress importer tool.Once WordPress installs the tool, the link will change to Run Importer. Click that link to start the process. Now, use the Choose F ile button to select the .xml file that you downloaded from Squarespace in the first step. Then, choose Upload file and import:On the next page, I recommend selecting assign posts to an existing user and selecting your WordPress account from the drop-down. This controls the author of all the content that you import from Squarespace. Then, check the box for Download and import file attachments and click Submit:You should see a success message telling you that the content was imported:To verify that your content was imported, you can go to the Posts and Pages sections in your WordPress dashboard. For example, you can see that this blog post from our test site came through just fine:While your posts and pages should all transfer over, theres a chance that you might be missing some content from a page. For example, Squarespace doesnt export certain blocks, like audio or video blocks. If you have any pages that use audio or video blocks, youll want to manually edit those pages and re-add y our audio/video content. WordPress editor uses a similar block system, so you can just add another video or audio block at the right spot:4. Copy and paste other content to WordPressUnfortunately, as I mentioned before, Squarespace does not export 100% of your content. For example, you might be missing product pages, album pages, and/or event pages if you were using them at Squarespace. If thats the case, your only option is to manually copy and paste them. You can create new pages in WordPress and copy and paste the content over.If your pages arent that complicated, you can use the regular WordPress block editor. Or, if you want a more visual design experience, you can install the Elementor page builder plugin. Heres how to use Elementor to design content. If you were selling products at Squarespace, you can also use a plugin like WooCommerce to add eCommerce functionality to your WordPress site. Learn how to use WooCommerce and how it compares to Squarespace Commerce.5. Import image s to WordPress siteAt this point, your in-content images from Squarespace should still be showing up. However, if you look at an images URL, youll see that the image is still being served from the Squarespace website:Thats not good because you want those images to be served from your WordPress sites server. To fix that, you can use a free WordPress plugin called Auto Upload Images. Auto Upload Images Author(s): Ali IraniCurrent Version: 3.2.2Last Updated: May 16, 2019auto-upload-images.3.2.2.zip 84%Ratings 99,122Downloads WP 2.7+Requires To get started, install and activate the plugin. Heres how to install a WordPress plugin.Once youve activated the plugin, you need to update all of your posts so that the plugin can import your images. Dont worry its easy to bulk update all your content at one time:Go to the Posts area in your WordPress dashboard.Use the checkbox to select all of your posts.Select Edit in the Bulk Actions drop-down.Click Apply. Then, in the interface that app ears, just click the Update button (dont change anything just hit update):If you have a lot of content, you can use the Screen Options settings in the top-right corner to change the number of posts that WordPress displays per page. This will let you edit all of your content at once:Make sure to repeat the same process for your WordPress pages.6. Configure WordPress permalinksIf you want a seamless transition when you switch from Squarespace to WordPress, youll need to create the same URL structure that your Squarespace site used. This ensures that any links from other sites will still take people to the right spot on your site.By default, Squarespace uses the following structure for your blog post URLs:yoursite.com/[BLOG-PAGE-NAME]/[BLOG-POST-TITLE]For example, if your Squarespace blog page was blog, a URL might be:yoursite.com/blog/title-of-postTo mimic this on your WordPress site, you can use the WordPress permalinks feature.Go to Settings → Permalinks. Then, use the Custo m Structure option to create your structure. For example, /blog/%postname%/. This will dynamically insert the post title after blog. Some Squarespace sites might also include the date in the URL structure. If thats how your site does it, you can also insert variables for the date to mimic your Squarespace site:7. Recreate Squarespace template on WordPressAt this point, you should have all of your Squarespace content on your WordPress site. However, theres still one last issue:The design of your site is totally different and you dont have the index page from your Squarespace site.Unfortunately, theres no way to get the exact same design as your Squarespace site because all of the templates are unique to Squarespace. However, there are tens of thousands of WordPress themes to choose from, so you can probably find something that looks similar. You can find lots of great themes for various niches here. Or, our Neve theme is a great flexible option that you can customize in a variety of wa ys.Beyond the WordPress theme that you choose, you can also use a WordPress page builder plugin to help design your content (including recreating your index page). This gives you a more visual editor, in-line with the Squarespace experience. Free Essays on The Scopes Trial

The Scopes Trial began as a lighthearted plot by a small group of men looking to bring attention to the town of Dayton, Tennessee, but it quickly spiraled into one of the most debated, heated and famous trials of the twentieth century. It was a trial that had been in the making since Charles Darwin first proposed the theory of evolution. It was a battle between the modernists and the traditionalists. Soon began the trial that would go down in history to become known as â€Å"The Great Monkey Trial† (Pierce 1), (Linder 1) Charles Darwin had stirred great controversy with his theory of evolution that he presented in 1858. His theory about human evolving from monkeys sparked arguments between scientists and religious leader. Many people thought it to go against the Adam and Eve story in the Bible. Included with those people who did not agree with Darwin were Fundamentalists. (McGowen 19) Fundamentalism was started by American Christians who thought that the Bible had to be true. During the 1920s, Fundamentalists were a major force in American religion and soon began attacking the teachings of evolution in school. In January of 1925, John Butler, Tennessee House of Representatives member introduced a bill that made it illegal to, â€Å"teach any theory that denies the story of the divine creation of man as taught in the Bible.† (Pierce 2) The Butler Act was passes into law by Governor Austin Peay, although it was not expected to be enforced. Surveillance is increasingly being used in the workplace, what are the Essay

Surveillance is increasingly being used in the workplace, what are the cost and benefits for the business - Essay Example This study was conducted to investigate the implications of surveillance systems on companies such as the British Airways. It takes a look at the various ways in which surveillance systems affect consumers and personnel in actual scenarios. Looking at how surveillance is important or not for a business is significant because it proves to be a ‘necessary evil’ that may provide a lot of benefits than what is expected. But with the revision of rights of employees in the workplace, surveillance is now frowned upon as a form of breaching one’s personal space. When misused and abused, the utilization of surveillance in the workplace could lead to more complications such as lawsuits and other legal matters. Companies which are not built to handle these kinds of negative impacts may soon be well out of business, leading to great financial loss and ultimately to the closure of the company. On the other hand surveillance technology, if applied correctly will result to the o pposite; it may lead to customer and employee satisfaction which may lead to an increase on profit and therefore contributing to the growth and financial well-being of the company. This study was conducted primarily through research work with most of the references herein are taken from online sources which proves to be fairly reliable. One of the primary concerns of any business organisation is the satisfaction of their customers. The saying â€Å"the customer is always right† is universally followed by many of business companies around the world. Today, due to better definitions of labour codes a company must not only look upon the satisfaction of the customer but also of their employees. The employees are the backbone of any company for without them a company will be just a heap of unorganized set of ideas waiting to materialize. Though employees are important, there are quite a significant number of unscrupulous ones so a method must be devised to somehow monitor the activities of

HealthSouth SOX Violations Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words

HealthSouth SOX Violations - Research Paper Example The mandating of not for profit corporations to utilize the SOX (2002) will improve their operations significantly towards the reduction of fraud. The SOX (2002) provides for ethical management practices. For that reason, whereas profit corporations do not have shareholder protection, there is a need to protect donors of nonprofits (Dalton & Dalton, 2011). The SOX (2002) prohibits the occurrence of corporate fraud among public companies. The bill was enacted after the occurrence of corporate scandals prior to 2002 such as Enron and WorldCom. The scandals resulted in billions of dollars of losses in investor value due to the collapse of these companies as well as the overall negative effect to the stock exchange of the United States. In the establishment of the SOX (2002), the goal was to promote ethical behavior among corporate executives across all industries. Hence, in the evaluation of the SOX (2002) in the healthcare industry, the assessment is a reflection of the performance of the SOX (2002) generally. In the healthcare industry, the SOX (2002) has promoted the reduction of the excesses of financial fraud. The full implementation of the SOX (2002) improved the internal controls of organizations in the healthcare industry. As a result, it improves the audit trails, data integrity, policy and procedures of organizations. Overall, i nvestors within the industry could now enjoy better accountability from the executives of the healthcare organization. The healthcare executives had high ethical standards to meet in light of the SOX (2002) with fines and jail terms providing sufficient deterrents against the occurrence of financial fraud (Coates, 2007). The organization had multiple deficiencies that increased the opportunities for fraud.

Other data was collected by use of interview with gas station personnel to gather their opinion concerning possible causes for changes in gasoline prices. Good research provides new and unbiased findings that are important to some entity or group of people. The researcher must not benefit from the outcomes and findings of the study as to ensure the integrity of the findings. Information collected should best represent the population that is being tested. Good research utilizes the most appropriate data collection methods such as surveys, interviews, etc and research tools such as periodical indexes, databases, and Web sites. Definitions of Project Success

Definitions of Project Success Using your own words, define â€Å"Project Success†. Describe some aspects of how you would approach a project to ensure delivery of successful project outcome.  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   Introduction Projects are defined by their scope, budget, and schedule. For example, an Agency is to undertake a project to design and build a new maintenance facility for its fleet of buses (scope), at an estimate of $30 million (preliminary budget) over a three-year period (schedule). The schedule specifies a defined beginning and end. Projects go through a life cycle of phases between their beginnings and end that for construction projects are typically: initiation, planning, design, construction, commissioning, and closeout. Project Success is defined in many ways but briefly means that it consists of many activities which have to be considered and completed within the constraints of time, cost, and performance. Project can be successful if the following factors are implemented. Time Period: Time plays a key role for completion of project. Every Project are constrained to a specific time period and within that time the project should be completed. There should not be any extensions if the completion date of project is finalised. Cost/Budget: It is also a key constraint for all projects in a limited budget. Projects should run within the budget allocated. All requirements should be fulfilled within the budget limits and the resources should be used efficiently to complete the project. Generally the project manager develops the budget based on the cost estimates at the beginning of each project phase and refines it once there is better information defining the scope. Refining the budget occurs through studies and analysis in the design development process through the Preliminary engineering phase.   When Agencies try to fix the budget too early in the project life cycle, they are surprised by the significant increases in the budget over what was set forth in the Capital Improvement Plan. The budget should not be fixed as baseline until after completion of the preliminary engineering phase. Performance: SocioCultural Issues: Sociocultural factors play an increasingly significant role in the development project management. This aspect produces a provisional social system within a well-built organizational environment that unites the talents of a different set of professionals working to entire the project. Project managers should build a supportive social network among a different set of collaborators with diverse standards, obligations, and views. Since People are the essential part of project, the essential factors narrating people in project management are teamwork, communication, leadership, negotiation, problem solving, behavioural characteristics and conflict management. Projects success greatly depends upon the commitment of all the team members to achieve the common goal. To select the right members and ensure good team work within the project team is a challenge for the project manager. Effective communication is essential; the main objective of communication in project management is to perceive that there is a general understanding of the project. Leadership involves identifying and articulating the need to considerably change the direction and function of the project, aligning people to the latest direction, and motivating them to work collectively to conquer hurdles produced by the change and to understand innovative objectives. Negotiation is the process of planning, discussing, suggest, trade-offs, bargaining and agreeing. The factors like resources, assignments, scope, cost and schedule of objectives are managed by the project staff in a project. The project manger should be capable of identifying and analysing problems related to technical and managerial aspects in a project. By constructing problem-solving in a project and problem collaboration in project team then these problems are dealt swiftly. Problem definition and decision making are involved in problem solving. Behavioural characteristics are the factors that divide and depict a persons favoured way of acting, interacting, and responding in a variety of circumstances. The behavioural characteristics which are essential for project management are thoughts, common sense, progressiveness, adaptability, creativity, prudent risk taker, equality and commitment. In several organizations, conflicts occur between employees as a normal result of employee relations. The project manager needs to identify the objects and behavioural components of conflict. In any organisation conflicts can be managed by collaborating, compromising, smoothing, avoidance and competing.  Ã‚     Ã‚   1. Project Mission- It should have defined goals and general directions. 2. Project Schedule/Plan - A detailed specification of the individual activities for the project Implementation. 3. Client Consultation - There should be regular consultation, communication and active participations in all meetings. 4. Personnel Recruitment, Selection, and Training of the necessary personnel for the project team. 5. Technical Tasks For a certain project there should be availability of the required technology and expertise to accomplish the specific technical action steps. 6. Clients Acceptance - The act of selling the final Project to its ultimate intended users. 7. Monitoring and Feedback- Timely provision of comprehensive control information at each stage in the implementation process. 8. Communication The provision of an appropriate network and necessary data to all key actors in the implementation process. 9. Trouble-shooting - Ability to handle unexpected crises and deviations from plan. 10. Black Panther Party Essay -- Politics Race

The Black Panther Party My survey paper for Assignment 4 is on the Black Panther Party. I will discuss the rise and the fall of the Black Panther Party and how Huey Newton and Bobby Seale met. I will also discuss some of the goals of the Black Panther Party, the good the party did for the black and poor communities. I will also discuss what they hoped to achieve from their movement. Huey Newton and Bobby Seale founded the Black Panther Party (BPP) in Oakland, California in 1966. The original name of the Black Panther Party was the Black Panther Party for Self-Defense. Huey Newton was illiterate when he graduated from high school. Newton taught himself how to read. Seale had served in the Air Force. Newton and Seale met while both were attending Merritt Junior College in 1965. After Newton attended Merritt Junior College he studied law at the San Francisco School of Law. At Merritt Junior College they organized a Soul Student’s Advisory Council. This Council was the first group to demand that African-American studies be included in the college curriculum. The two men split with the council when Newton and Seale wanted to bring a squad of Black youths on campus to perform drills in commemoration of Malcolm X’s birthday the year after his death. This is when they formed the Black Panther Party. Newton was the Party’s Defense Minister and Seale was the Chairman. The Black Panther Party symbol, the panther, was adopted from an independent political party established by residents in Lowndes County, Alabama a year earlier. The symbol was chosen because the panther is a powerful image. To achieve their goals, Newton and Seale had a ten-point platform that demanded full employment, exemption of black men from the military and an end to police brutality among other things. The last point, point number ten was a summary of all of the other points. One of the main goals was to protect Black citizens against police brutality. Their message was self-defense. The Party originally preached violent revolution as the only means of achieving black liberation. The party called on blacks to arm themselves for the liberation struggle. Huey Newton studied law and spoke up when the police violated the civil rights of Black people. He made sure the search warrants were legal. The Black Panther Party had their own patrols to monitor the activities of the police in Black nei... ...n leader was shot to death while standing in the doorway of his home. We want the full employment of our people. 3. We want an end to robbery by the capitalist of our black communities. 4. We want decent housing, fit shelter of human beings. 5. We want education that teaches us our true history and our true history and our role in the present day society. 6. We want all Black men to be exempt from military service. 7. We want an immediate end to police brutality and murder of Black people. 8. We want freedom for all Black men held in federal, state, county and city prisons and jails. 9. We want all Black people when brought to trial to be tried in a court by a jury of their peer group or people from their Black communities, as defined by the Constitution of the United States. 10.
